The history of Antwerp has been determined by its location along the river Scheldt.
For centuries, Antwerp has been a world-famous port town.
Thanks to the port, the city grew so rich, that a magnificent
cathedral (with the most beautiful Gothic tower
of Europe) and a unique town hall could be built.

When you come to our beautiful city, do not forget to
drop by the house of Rubens and the Plantin-Moretusmuseum,
in which you will find an exceptional collection on the art of
printing. Both museums are classical examples of sixteenth
century middle class houses.

From Maximilaan, you have a fabulous sight on the cathedral
and on the “Grote Markt” (“Big Market Place”) :
your are in the very heart of historical Antwerp.

For shoppers, Antwerp is Paradise.
Whether you fancy Haute Couture (for which Antwerp
is especially renowned) or antique, Antwerp won’t disappoint you.
